A T.V. camera detector
Creators
Description
A neutron area detector system in development at ILL which is based on a system for x-rays is described. The neutrons fall on a phosphor screen (a mixture of 6LiF and ZnS) coupled to a four-stage image intensifier which is in turn fibre-optically coupled to a T.V. camera tube. This system has a large counting rate capability. Its spatial resolution is of the order of one mm. The main limitation of the system is its limited counting efficiency
