Present status of the photon factory
Description
The Photon Factory project was initiated in 1978, Construction of the 2.5 GeV electron linac and the 2.5 GeV electron storage ring were completed in March 1982. Immediately after the first success of storage of electrons in the ring in March 1982, preliminary experiments were made using synchrotron radiation; also test experiments were made in the second run of June-July 1982, using more than fifteen experimental apparatuses constructed and prepared. These apparatuses and some others under preparation will be in full use from April 1983. (orig.)
