Composite thermoluminescent systems for measuring the energy of ionizing photon radiation
Creators
Description
In radiation engineering, biology, medicine, and other fields the conditions and results of irradiation are characterized by the values of the effective energy (E/sub eff/) of ionizing photon radiation. A number of features of thermoluminescent detectors (small size, independence from the measuring apparatus and from one another, wide range of measurements based on the dosage and dose rate and others) make them useful in the method in which E/sub eff/ is measured with two detectors having low and high effective atomic numbers (Z/sub eff/). In this work we studied the dosimetric properties of two-component compositions based on the thermoluminophor LiF and the salts of heavy metals in order to use these compositions in two-detector systems for measuring the quality of ionizing photon radiation
