Study of optical transition radiation produced by 30 to 70 MeV energy electrons: application to the diagnostics of beams with charged particles. Chapter II. Description of the experimental device. Chapter IV. Experiments with transition radiation interferences
Description
Our experimental work on transition radiation was essentially carried out on the 80 MeV electron Linear Accelerator of Saclay (AL80). A few experiments were also performed on the Linear Accelerator of Orsay and are described. To study the properties of this radiation and to explore its possible applications for the diagnosis of such relativistic particle beams, we placed the specimens to be irradiated in the electron path itself, at the output of the last accelerating section, or slightly in front of the operating space. 32 figs., 4 tabs
