Microstructure of the Si3 N4 ceramic oxidized layer containing rare earth concentrates

Description

Two silicon nitride-based ceramics containing (Y2 O3, Al2 O3) have been oxidized in air for 6 hours at 1400 deg C SEM images shows a oxide scale with bubbles and cracks in the sample with rare earth concentrate. In the same sample there was no Y3 migration to the surface. (author)
