Interstellar propagation of low energy cosmic rays
Description
Wave particles interactions prevent low energy cosmic rays from propagating at velocities much faster than the Alfven velocity, reducing their range by a factor or order 5o. Therefore, supernovae remnants cannot fill the neutral portions of the interstellar medium with 2 MeV cosmic rays. (orig.)

Wechselwirkungen zwischen Wellen und Teilchen verhindern die Ausbreitung kosmischer Strahlung mit Geschwindigkeiten, die viel groesser als die Alfven Geschwindigkeit sind, so dass ihre Reichweite um einen Faktor der Groessenordnung 50 reduziert wird. Deshalb koennen Supernovareste nicht die neutralen Anteile des interstellaren Mediums mit kosmischer Strahlung von 2 MeV fuellen. (orig.)Additional details
