Sputtering of borides graphite with hydrogen ions

  • 1. Moskovskij Inzhenerno-Fizicheskij Inst., Moscow (Russian Federation)

Description

Process of graphite carbonaceous material sputtering with hydrogen ions of 9 keV energy within the target temperature range of 330-870 K is studied. Materials already known as protective materials in the first wall of thermonuclear reactor (MPG-8, USB-15) as well as surface-borided graphites were studied. It is shown that surface boriding decreases chemical sputtering in the MPG-8 by 2.5-3 times and suppresses it within the whole interval of temperatures in borided carbon glass ceramics type USB-15. 10 refs., 5 figs
