MINOTAUR: A Generalized Geometry Discrete Ordinates Research Code

  • 1. Nuclear Engineering Department, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN (United States)

Description

The spatial algorithm of the Savannah River Site CENTAUR code has been improved by the implementation of a general order intra-node spatial flux shape and by the extension to three dimensions. The new algorithm is described. MINOTAUR, a new research code that utilizes the new algorithm, shows promise of usefulness as demonstrated by its use on two simple few-group benchmark problems.
