Description

The presentation by Günther Bäuerle from the German Ministry of Economy reviewed the progress of the ongoing construction of the centre for storage of defueled reactor compartments of nuclear submarines in Sayda Bay in North-West Russia. The initial part of the storage pad for 24 reactor compartments had been completed. The next stages of construction to enlarge the facility were described. Seven submarine reactor compartments were being cut from the hulls and conditioned for relocation to the facility with the German funding.
