  • 1. Vice President of Ain Shams University (Egypt)
  • 2. President of Atomic Energy Authority, Nasr City, Cairo (Egypt)

Description

The importance and necessity of the topic of protective facilities against traditional nuclear biological and chemical hazards (shelters) come as a result of shortage in researches and studies comprehensively made on shelters and especially in Egypt. The research aims at identifying the standards of designing, planning and technology of protective facilities of nuclear and biological risks (shelters) to make use of them when planning and designing shelters, and making analytical studies for international examples of shelters and formulation of standards concerning shelters in a special manual that can be referred to (a reference) when planning or designing traditional or nuclear shelters in (Eg) or in any other country in the world. This research shows proposed shelters for already existing cites and new ones and their degradation. The research suggests a proposed planning of shelters in (Eg) and suggest what is the role of the Egyptian Civil Defence in the field of shelters. Also this research aims at making a design of the double use proposed nuclear shelter capacity of 1500 person
