Description

The present status of the JAERI tandem and the tandem-booster accelerator is shown. The tandem accelerator with the terminal voltage below 17 MV has been successfully used for more than a decade for many kinds of experiments related to nuclear physics, atomic and molecular physics, and solid state physics. Recently the super-conducting linear accelerator was constructed as a booster of the tandem accelerator and beams of 35Cl were successfully accelerated. Experimental projects using beams from the tandem-booster have been proposed. A recoil mass separator and a crystal ball which consists of 12 anti-compton suppressed Ge detector arrays are now under construction. (author). 4 refs., 4 figs., 2 tabs
