Vector computer-oriented finite element analysis for non-linear problems

Practically feasible finite element algorithms are presented in this paper that use the immense capacity of a vector computer efficiently in the sense of a shorter time than with a universal computer. Furthermore it could be shown that the relatively small core memory is no limitation to efficiency even for problems of this remarkable nature. Some aspects surely need improving, but one can see here that nonlinear finite element analyses are a field of application for which the vector computer is well suited because of its special hardware structure.
