Solid state nuclear track detectors
Description
A brief article follows the historical development of solid state nuclear track detectors (SSNTDs) and then discusses the biological and environmental applications particularly of polyallyl diglycol carbonate in determining the quantity and distribution of alpha-emitting radionuclides in human tissues at environmental levels or in experimental studies using animals. Finally the use of SSNTDs in personal neutron dosimetry is discussed. (UK)
