The crystal structure of U2Ni2Si7 compound

Description
The crystal structure of U2Ni2Si7 compound has been determined by the powder method: periods of base-centered rhombic lattice -a=c=3.964+-0.002; b=20.85+-0.01A; space group Cmmm, N=22; positions of atoms 4U in 4i OyO, y=0.170; 2Ni in 2(a) 000; 4(Nisub(0.5)Sisub(0.5) in 4(j) oyl/2, y=0.386; 4Sisup((1)) in 4(i) OyO, y=0.437; 4Sisup((2)) in 4(j) Oyl/2 y=0.063; 4Sisup((3)) in 4j Oy''2, y=0.722. Structure U2Ni2Si7 is of a new type. It belongs to a homologous series based on types AlB2, BaAl4, CaF
