Analysis of dosimetric studies of skin, mucous membranes and protective respirators for persons working in the Chernobyl' NPP zone

Description

A technique for sampling materials for dosimetric control with smear taking from skin on respirator edge, near lips, from palate, mucous membrane of oral pharynx backside as well as from respirator itself is developed. The materials discussed characterize qualitatively the presence and composition of radionuclides in improvised means, mucous membrane of upper respiratory tract and adipose-skin tissues. Not more than 25% of activity being on mucous membrane is fixed on smears, and the area, from which smears are taken, is approximately 10 cm. Estimation of dose rate distribution by tissue depth for beta particles emitted by radionuclides is made taking it into account
