Analysis of the ultra-micro-electrochemical behaviour of acids and bases in the tributylphosphate (TBP) in absence and then in presence of electrolyte. Analytic applications

Description

In the first part of this research thesis, the author presents the tributylphosphate (TBP): synthesis and purification, chemical stability, characteristics as a solvent, electrochemical characteristics, extraction of acids by the TBP. Then, he reports the analysis of the dissociation power of the TBP by determination of equilibrium constants by conductometry and spectrophotometry. He reports the analysis of reactions by ultra-micro-electrochemistry: generalities on ultra-micro-electrodes, characteristics of voltamperograms, benefits of ultra-micro-electrodes, matter transport during electrochemical reactions, electrochemistry in absence of electrolyte, relationships between limit currents noticed in absence or presence of electrolyte in a dissociating environment, extension to poorly dissociating environments. The second part reports the experimental study: characterisation of the force of acids by conductometry and spectrophotometry, ultra-micro-electrochemical study of acids in TBP, electrochemical behaviour of amines in TBP
