Featured here is the keynote address that was presented at the 73rd Annual AMS Meeting. The discussion of meteorology focuses on global aspects of climate change. Means of more completely observing and understanding climate change are identified. The author also presents recommendations of remedial action that should be pursued to ameliorate the effects of present climate change and to identify, control, and prevent future problems
