Triple X-point tokamak divertor
Description
A novel tokamak magnetic geometry is described. The proposed arrangement creates a D-shaped cross-section with an outer divertor. The equilibrium exhibits a strong local shear in the outer toroidal region which may reduce transport driven by ballooning and trapped particle turbulence. Furthermore, an outer divertor would facilitate reactor design. (author). Letter-to-the-editor. 10 refs, 3 figs
