Use of long-base time-delay measurements in the study of rapidly varying x-ray stars

Description
The existence of time variations on the timescale of 10- (r3 seconds in several of the galactic X-ray sources makes it possible to determine their position by simultaneous measurement from two detectors placed at planetary distances, with a precision comparable to any yet achieved in X-ray astronomy. The significance of a search for even faster time variations in the sources is pointed out. If such variations should, in fact, occur, the technique could yield positional information to the order of .
