Sensitivity of TI-201 polar map and tomographic section displays for the detection of coronary artery disease: Clinical comparison of two algorithms in simultaneously acquired studies
Description
Twenty patients with suspected CAD, no previous PTCA or ACB, and recent cardiac catheterization underwent T1-201 stress tomographic imaging (Bruce protocol). Each study was simultaneously acquired on two computer systems and processed using algorithms from two major manufacturers. Overall sensitivities for detection of CAD (≥70% stenosis) were as follows: polar maps (raw data, 0,88/0.82; polar maps (normal file), 0.82/0.76; and tomographic sections, 1.0/0.94. Sensitivities for detection of CAD (≥70% stenosis, ≥85% maximum predicted HR and/or +TMT) were as follows: polar maps (raw data), 0.93/0.80, polar maps (normal file), 0.80/0.80; and tomographic sections, 0.93/1.0. Though there were differences in sensitivities for detection of individual vessel lesions, both algorithms were equally sensitive in the overall detection of CAD
