Evidences of ion-cluster formation on the reactions of [I.T.]-activated 80Br in Hsup(80m)Br-CH4 system

Description

The effects of various additives having different dipole moment and the temperature dependence on the reaction of isometric transition-activated 80Br in the Hsup(80m)Br-Ch4 system have been investigated. It was found that the formation of individual organic products, such as CH380Br and CH280BrBr, were significantly affected by adding CO or HCl additive to the system, and that the distributions of these products were influenced by the temperature of the experimental system. These results present direct evidences to support the suggestion that the charge complex, [CH480Br+]*, formed in the primary step forms the ion-cluster with surrounding molecules in the subsequent steps to form the final products.
