Cavitation mostly considered as an operational problem and not a desirable phenomena. The rapid creation and collapse of bubbles can destroy pump and erode other equipment. But recently cavitation has been explored to enhance mass transfer and enhance or alter chemical reactions. Cavitation by definition is the formation, growth and rapid collapse of bubbles.
