Comparison between individual kidney GFR estimation at 20 minutes with 99m-Tc DTPA + 51 Cr EDTA GFR in children with single kidney
Description
The uptake function of the individual kidney may be calculated during the first 3 minutes of a Tc 99m DTPA radioisotope renogram. The results reflect the individual Kidney's glomerular filtration rate (IKGFR) and may be quantified with a single 20 minute blood sample. The technique is described and its validation in 43 children, 42 with single kidneys and one with bilateral cutaneous ureterostomies, using Cr51 EDTA for slope clearance glomerular filtration rate estimation. The correlation is highly significant, r=0.96
