Wettability and impregnation of porous tungsten and molybdenum with liquid gallium
- 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Kiev. Inst. Problem Materialovedeniya
Description
A process of porous tungsten and molybdenum wetting with liquid gallium in the helium and hydrogen media and in vacuum is studied. Existence of ''wetting thresholds'' with medium-dependent temperature is foUnd. The alloy spreading rate is controlled by the process of interfaces purification. Porous molybdenum is subjected to intensive sintering in the presence of gallium. Gallium impregnation of molybdenum is impossible Under studied conditions
