Clinical and X-ray diagnosis of central cancer of the apical and posterior segments of the lung upper lobes

On the basis of 59 observations analysis, clinical and x-ray picture of central cancer of the apical and posterior segments of the lung upper lobes is presented. The strand-like, dark-ening, associated with the lung root, looking like a broom, is the most frequent radiologic feature of cancer of this localization. Sometimes hypoventilation of the segment and a tumor mode in the lung root are detected. Tomography has great diagnostic importance, allowing detection of highly informative symptoms of peribronchial tumor: irregular bronchial deformation, their walls thickening, and ''bronchial stretch symptom''
