Semi-quantitative CT scoring of nailed shaft fractures during normal healing and in non-unions: comparison with radiographic scoring

  • 1. Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc, IREC (Institut de Recherche Clinique et Experimentale), Avenue Hippocrate 10, Brussels, 1200 (Belgium)

Description

Highlights: • CT scoring of nailed fractures is feasible and reproducible. • Correlation between CT and x-Ray scores is substantial during normal healing. • Correlation between CT and x-Ray scores is weak in non-unions. • CT score is lower than x-Ray score in fractures with abundant callus. To compare tomographic (TUS) with radiographic (RUS) union scores in nailed shaft fractures during normal healing and in non-unions.
