Preparation of neodymium concentrate from rare earth metal hydroxide (REOH) through digested

Neodymium concentrate from REOH of PTBGN has ben done. Processing for separating cerium (Ce), separation lanthanum (La) and neodymium (Nd). Processing includes, separation of Ce by xidation and precipitation, separation of La and Nd by fractional precipitation. Before the the making of Nd concentrate, REOH was digested with NaOH. On the making of REOH through re-digestion, beside was obtained, also was obtained concentrates of Ce hydroxide, La oxalate and REOH. Ce hydroxide concentrate was obtained at pH 3.5 as much as 19.49 grams, concentration of Ce = 60.92 %, Ce hydroxide content = 90.52 %, the precipitation efficiency of Ce = 60.98 %. Nd hydroxide concentrate was obtained at pH 7.5 as much as 19.49 g, concentration of Nd = 20.30 %, Nd hydroxide content = 27.49 %, the precipitation efficiency of Nd= 27.40 %. Additionally Nd hydroxide concentrate was also obtained at pH 8 as much as 8,46 gram, concentration of Nd = 29.11 %, Nd hydroxide content = 39.42 %, the precipitation efficiency of Nd = 34.62 %. Another product was a concentrate of REOH obtained at pH 8.5 as much as 18.11 g, Ce content = 28.53 % , La content = 25.02 % and the content of Nd = 7.89 %. (author)
