Description

We compute analytically the logarithmic corrections to the photon propagator to order g4 in massless quantum chromodynamics. With α/sub c/=g2/4π2 defined by momentum-space subtraction, we find that sigma(e+e- → hadrons)/sigma(e+e- → μ+μ-) =Σ/sub q/epsilon/sub q/ 2(1+α/sub c/+Kα/sub c/ 2+xxx), where K=463/48+(85/36 √3)Cl2(π/3)-11zeta(3)+[(2/3)zeta(3)-23/36]n/sub f/ =-2.193+0.162n/sub f/ for n/sub f/ flavors of quark. The computation is done in momentum space using a novel generalization to 4-epsilon dimensions of the usual Chebyshev-polynomial expansion of Feynman propagators
