Deformation during broaching of big castings for nuclear power

Relations for dimensional changes of big pressings in broaching were derived from stress analysis. The derived relations were validated in laboratory using pressed lead specimens 10 mm thick. The obtained computer-calculated results were compared graphically with results calculated from the Romanovskij and Parakhin relations. The graphical comparison clearly shows that the derived relations for calculating the thickness and the height of the socket show the least deviation from the results obtained in the laboratory.
