Position resolution in closed ended HPGe detectors
Creators
Description
A method for determining the entry point of a γ-ray in closed-ended High Purity Ge detectors has been developed. Exploiting the position dependence shown by the current pulses produced when a γ-ray interacts with the detector, it has been possible to actively divide the crystal into four radial regions, thereby increasing the granularity.
