New borate LaB5O8(OH)2·1.5H2O with a {4[3T + Δ]∞∞ + Δ}∞∞∞ complex framework. Its place in the structural system based on symmetry and topology analysis in terms of the OD theory

Description
Crystals of new aqueous rare earth borates LaB5O8(OH)2·1.5H2O, sp. gr. P21/n were prepared in hydrothermal conditions. Crystal structure was determined by heavy atom method without previous learning of a chemical formula. Complex anion radical was constructed by crimped layers having structural-topological relation with layer pentaborates, without five B-polyhedron in construction block and connected in carcass by {4[3T + Δ]∞∞ + Δ}∞∞∞BO3-triangles. Atoms La are arranged in niches of layers, molecules of water are located in empty spaces of the carcass. Carcass of new borate is like a central symmetrical derivative of Pb-borate hielgardite
Abstract (Russian)
В гидротермальных условиях получены кристаллы нового водного редкоземельного бората LaB5O8(OH)2·1.5H2O, пр. гр. P21/n. Кристаллическая структура определена методом тяжелого атома без предварительного знания химической формулы. Сложный анионный радикал построен из гофрированных слоев, имеющих структурно-топологическое родство со слоистыми пентаборатами, однако без пятого B-полиэдра в строительном блоке, и соединенных в каркас {4[3T + Δ]∞∞ + Δ}∞∞∞BO3-треугольниками. Атомы La располагаются в нишах слоев, в пустотах каракаса находятся молекулы воды. Каркас нового бората аналогичен центросимметричной разновидности Pb-бората хильгардитаAdditional details
