Investigation of indium and carbon melting induced by dynamic laser action

Description

Melting of indium and glassy carbon induced by nanosecond laser impulse under conditions of a closed surface has been studied, the results are provided. Optics-acoustic measurements of pressure pulse permitted recording the melting on the samples irradiated surfaces at a pressure of P ≅ 0.3 GPa. It is shown that, when passing the melting point, pressure pulse dependence on time changes from proportional intensity of laser impulse to proportional integral absorbed energy

Abstract (Russian)

Представлены результаты исследований плавления индия и стеклографита под действием наносекундного лазерного импульса в условиях закрытой поверхности. Оптико-акутические измерения импульса давления позволили зарегистрировать плавление на облучаемых поверхностях образцов при давлении Р = 0,3 ГПа. Показано, что при переходе через порог плавления зависимость импульса давления от времени изменяется, переходя от пропорциональной интенсивности лазерного импульса к пропорциональной интегральной поглощенной энергии
