Angular and energy characteristics of neutrons produced by high-energy ion beam

Description
Results of calculations on angular and energy characteristics of neutrons, produced in interactions of protons and 12C ions with energy of 3.65 GeV/nucleon with copper target obtained using the KASKAD program are considered. The obtained results show, that data for protons, multiplied by quantity of incident nucleus nucleons, can be used for calculation of shields for heavy ion accelerators as the first approximation. Agreement of calculation and experimental characteristics enables to use the KASKAD program for calculation of angular and energy characteristics of secondary neutron radiation around the shield of heavy ion accelerators for wide range of neutron energy from several keV up to 3.65 GeV/nucleon
