Speeding-up and slowing-down spin dynamics and spin diffusion in high resolution solid state NMR

  • 1. Eidgenossische Technische Hochschule, Zuerich (Switzerland). Laboratorium fuer Physikalische Chemie

Description

This presentation focuses on spin diffusion among diluted S spins (13C) in the presence of abundant I spins (1H), which as a typical situation in organic solids. The elementary step in spin diffusion is a magnetization transfer through a two spin flippflop process. For resolved resonances an external heat bath is aneeded to provide the energy for the flip-flop procedd. Depending on the nature of the heat bath, several cases can be distinguished. Three examples are discussed: proton-driven spin diffusion, rotor-driven spin diffusion and rf-driven spin-diffusion. (author). 18 refs.; 3 figs
