Effect of DBPA on zirconium extraction by 30% TBP in the presence of uranium

Description
Investigation of dibutylphosphoric acid (DBP) effect on zirconium extraction in 30 % TBP in the presence of uranyl nitrate and in absence of it shows that DBP increases Zr distribution coefficient (DZr) significantly with DBP concentration growth from 0 to 2 g/l. With U concentration increase decrease of DZr is observed. For estimation of the mutual effect of U and DBP function of increasing FZr is introduced. At first with U concentration increase FZr decreases.Then FZr increases, especially in the case of stoichiometric Zr excess over DBP. In the case of DBP excess over Zr decrease of FZr is observed at low U concentration. Apparently, Zr extraction mechanisms in 30 % TBP with DBP participation in the case of its excess over Zr and in the case of its deficiency (or concentration equality) are distinguished by DBP molecule number in solvate composition
Abstract (Russian)
Исследование влияния дибутилфосфорной кислоты (ДБФ) на экстракцию циркония в 30 % ТБФ в присутствии уранилнитрата и без него показало, что ДБФ значительно увеличивает коэффициент распределения Zr (DZr) с ростом концентрации ДБФ от 0 до 2 г/л. С повышением концентрации U наблюдается падение DZr, однако отношение DZr в присутствии ДБФ и в ее отсутствии достаточно велико. Для оценки эффекта одновременного действия U и ДБФ вводится функция усиления FZr. С ростом концентрации U FZr вначале уменьшается, а затем возрастает, особенно при стехиометрическом избытке Zr над ДБФ. При избытке ДБФ над Zr отмечается снижение FZr при низкой концентрации U. Очевидно, механизмы экстракции Zr в 30 % ТБФ с участием ДБФ при ее избытке над Zr и при ее недостатке (или равенстве концентраций) отличаются по числу молекул ДБФ в составе сольватаAdditional details
