A case of basal cell carcinoma yielded at the irradiated region

Description
A case of the basal cell carcinoma yielded at the irradiated skin was reported together with consideration on literatures. A female of 36 years old who underwent 1-year radiotherapy (details unknown) for her congenital pigment plaque on the femoral skin 34 years ago had erythema at the irradiated region for 1 year. The lesion was found histologically to be the superficial basal cell carcinoma without apparent radiation dermatitis. The incidence of the carcinoma reported in a past decade which yielded post radiation therapy was 8.8%, and more than half of the therapy was not for malignant diseases. (K.H.)
