An absolute standard for 6Li vector analyzing powers

Description
Reactions with the spin structure 1+ + 0+ → 0+ + 0- have properties which allow an absolute determination of vertical stroke iT11vertical stroke via measurement of two of the tensor analyzing powers. Vector analyzing powers of the 12C(6 vector Li, α3)14N reaction are deduced to accuracies of about 6% from measurements of the tensor analyzing powers T20 and T21 at ELi = 33 MeV. The vector analyzing power in 6 vector Li + 4He elastic scattering is measured at Ec.m. = 6.2 MeV and θc.m. = 150 , establishing a secondary standard convenient for fast monitoring of 6Li vector polarization.
