Safety analyses for the new fuel at the Dukovany NPP (units 1 - 4) - uncontrolled opening of the steam dump to condenser

Analyses of uncontrolled opening of all steam dumps to the condenser were carried out for units 3 and 4 with a view to ascertaining whether a sufficient reactor core cooling would be secured and the pressure in the primary circuit would remain below 110% of the design value. The acceptability criteria were found to be satisfied. Although the reactor remained critical for the entire period analyzed, the operator would have time enough to bring the reactor to the subcritical state. (P.A.)
