Intraluminal treatment of oesophageal cancer with cobalt plus cis-platinum
Description
The dismal results in the treatment of oesophageal cancer where only 2% of males and 6% of females survive for more than 5 years prompted an investigation into other more efficient methods of treatment. A pilot study to determine the most efficient total dose and fractionation of intraluminal radiotherapy as well as the highest tolerable dose of cis-platinum infusion which could be given simultaneously with every Selectron treatment was carried out
