Comparative effects of neutron and gamma irradiation on striatal D1 and D2 dopamine receptors in rats

Description
D1 and D2 receptors densities and activities were studied in the striatum in rats irradiated with 1 MeV fission neutrons or exposed to 60Co gamma-rays at the dose of 7 Gy. No modulation of Dopamine receptors was observed after gamma irradiation. In constrast neutron irradiation induces, specifically, an increase of D1-receptor density in the striatum while the D2-receptor density and affinity were unchanged

Les effets d'une irradiation en fluence mixte (neutron/gamma) sur les recepteurs D1 et D2 ont ete compares a ceux induits par une irradiation gamma a la meme dose (7 Gy H + 1,5). L'irradiation neutronique induit de facon specifique une augmentation de la densite en recepteurs D1Additional details
