Description
The metamagnetic transition was observed for H//a-axis at HM=33T at 4.2K in TmCu2 with the orthorhombic crystal structure. The magnetization for H//a,Ma changes into Mc after the metamagnetic transition. We confirmed by measuring the magnetostriction that the present field-induced magnetic-axis conversion is related to the quadrupole moment O22 and induces expansion along the c-axis and shrinkage along the a-axis
