Description

After comparing turbine protection systems with reactor protection systems, the authors introduce the quantities by means of which the quality of a protection system can be evaluated. The methods of calculating these quantities are also given. Finally, the results obtained by applying these methods to four electric turbine protection systems are presented and discussed. (author)
