On the inhibition of intergranular corrosion of austenitic stainless steels in highly oxidizing solutions

Description
Patterns of tetrafluoroborate dope effect (when it is injected into HNO3+Cr(4) solutions separately or together with phosphate) on the uniform and intercrystalline corrosion of chromium-nickel austenite stainless steels depending on their chemical and phase composition and on concentration of nitric acid and Cr(4) in a solution are determined. The possibility of abrupt (by an order of 2-3) increase of corrosion resistance of steels in highly-oxidizing media via combined injection of phosphate and tetrafluoroborate dopes in the solution is shown. Optimum concentrations of these dopes resulting in corrosion maximum inhibition are determined
Abstract (Russian)
Выявлены закономерности влияния добавок тетрафторбората (при его введении в растворы HNO3+Cr(4) раздельно или совместно с фосфатом) на равномерную и межкристаллитную коррозию хромникелевых аустенитных нержавеющих сталей в зависимости от их химического и фазового состава, а также концентрации азотной кислоты и Cr(4) в растворе. Показана возможность резкого (в десятки - сотни раз) повышения коррозионной стойкости сталей в сильноокислительных средах путем совместного введения в раствор добавок фосфата и тетрафторбората. Определены оптимальные концентрации этих добавок, приводящие к максимальному ингибированию коррозииAdditional details
