HPLC using physiological saline for the quality control of radiopharmaceuticals used in PET studies

Description

HPLC separation using a reverse phase column and physiological saline as an eluting solution is used for the quality control of radiopharmaceuticals used in PET studies. The compounds applied were 3,4-dihydroxy-6-[18F]fluoro-L-phenylalanine, 2-[18F]fluoro-L-tyrosine, 2-[18F]fluoro-L-phenylalanine, 4-borono-2-[18F] fluoro-L-phenylalanine, L-[methyl-11C]methionine, 2-deoxy-2-[18F]fluoro-D-glucose, 5-[18F]-fluorouracil, and 2'-deoxy-5-[18F]fluorouridine. Human serum [11C]methylalbumin was also separated using a gel-filtration column and physiological saline. After the HPLC separation, the chemical and biological qualities of these compounds were of injectable grade. (Author)
