Operation and experience with MW-class wind turbines and future development
Description
Design details are given for 1.5 MW Micon wind turbines erected at Gammelby, Kronprinzenkoog, Helmean, Scheid, and Oldersbek in Germany, and at Tjaereborg in Denmark together with a brief account of operating experience. The main technical problem has been a bearing failure in the Tjaereborg machine. The turbines have rotor diameters of 60 or 64 m. Turbines with 72 and 78 m rotors are planned. (uk)
