Gamma-ray spectra and multiplicities in the yrast and statistical cascades
Description
The continuous gamma-ray spectra and multiplicities in the yrast and statistical cascades is analyzed in terms of the competition among collective (rotational) and non-collective (statistical) modes of de-excitation. The influence of both E2 and M1 collective modes is studied. It is found that the competition may be important at a rather high energy above the yrast line and that large g-values are needed to fit recent experimental data. (author)
