Effects of negative ions on nonlinear propagation of ion-cyclotron whistlers

Description
A theoretical investigation is made through the derivation of dispersion relation and group travel time which lead a mathematical development for the estimation of ionosphere parameters. It is concluded that both the negative ions and nonlinear effects have countable contribution on the propagation of whistlers. Ionosphere parameters obtained by previous authors would be modified giving more correct results, if both the effects are considered. Thus the values of the ionosphere parameters obtained by using whistlers would be in good agreement with the results obtained by other diagnostic method. 2 figs., 21 refs
