Description

The feasibility of dark field illumination as a recording technique in a high pressure streamer chamber has been investigated. The light source was an excimer-dye laser. With a simple optical arrangement already a very good contrast was obtained. In a mixture of helium and methane at 8 atm a streamer diameter of proportional55 μm was observed. (orig.)
