Identification of resonance parameters from the finite volume energy spectrum

Description
New finite size formulas are derived which allow the identification of the energy and the width of a resonance from the finite volume energy spectrum. The results are valid in QCD as well as in Higgs models. Their applicability in numerical simulations of lattice field theories is discussed in detail. (orig.)
