Description

The author introduces conceptual design of the 200 MW reactor for district heating and comparison with pressurized heating reactor. The reactor operates at atmospheric pressure, since the reactor core is put in a large and deep pool, utilizing static water pressure to allow an outlet temperature of the core high enough to meet the requirement of the district heating system. Compared with pressurized heating reactors, the reactor has features of simple structure, inherent safety, relatively lower investment and lower cost of heat and realizability in China
